Playing in the Snow

Yesterday was such a nice day compared to most of the recent ones, that we spent the morning out in the snow. With a run on sleds because of the recent snow, we had to make do with what we had around the house...a laundry basket.  Avery didn't seem to mind though.

After we were done "sledding," we decided to make a snow angel family.  It took some work, but we all three made snow angels.  I'm not sure how well the picture turned out though.

We had a great time together, and Avery really seemed to enjoy the snow.

Bye, Bye Mullet and Hello Big Girl!

Tonight I took the big plunge and finally cut Avery's hair.  For those of you who haven't seen it down in quite some time, it was quite a mullet.  Thus, why she is always in pigtails. So, after not being able to find a decent place to get a toddler's hair cut, I decided to just do it myself.  I think the results can speak for themselves.

Getting it all combed out and ready for the "before" picture.

Check out that mullet!

One last picture from the front.

That's some long hair!

The "after" picture.

So cute!

It's so curly now...

...and short!

One last "cheese" for the camera!

Overall, I think it turned out pretty well for a first haircut done by "mom" in the dining room!  She looks like such as kid now!

No More Baby, Avery is a Big Girl!

For about a month now (as of the afternoon of December 5), Avery has been diligently working on becoming potty trained.  We had about a week of accidents, which at the time seemed like an eternity, but looking back seems like such a short period of time.  Once that week was up, it seemed like things just clicked for her.  She has not had an accident since that first week, including trips around town as well as the drive to and from Clinton twice.  I couldn't be more proud of her!  She just seems to catch on to things so quickly; it's so amazing to me.  Here are a few pictures of her in her "big girl panties" because little kids in panties are just so cute!

Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma Cover

We celebrated Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma Cover in Clinton this weekend.  We had a really fun and exciting time.  Avery got so many fantastic gifts and had an amazing time hanging out with the family.  Unfortunately, we weren't able to capture any of it on camera since ours wasn't working at the time.  Luckily Chelsea took several pictures on her phone that are soon to come.  Thanks so much to Grandpa and Grandma for such a great time, and sorry that we weren't able to post any pictures yet.

Christmas with Nana and Papa

After Christmas day at home, we went to Clinton to spend the next day celebrating Christmas with Nana and Papa and the rest of the family.  We had a great time seeing everyone.  Avery was especially enamored with baby Jack.  Thank you to everyone for giving such great gifts to all of us, especially Avery.  We are so grateful to have such a wonderful family.

Christmas Day!

Christmas day was such a blast this year.  While Avery's first Christmas was really fun, this one was even better. Avery had so much fun opening gifts and playing with them, and I think that Jeremy and I had even more fun watching her.  Here are a few of the pictures from the day.
