Halloween!

For Halloween, Avery was the cutest pumpkin ever! We went over to my sister, Nicole's, house at the beginning of the night. Dylan and Mackenna were getting all dressed up too. Dylan was a cowboy, and Mackenna was a lamb. The three of them were so cute together.

After starting our night at Nicole's house, we made our way to Terry and Teresa's for a little snack and to show off our pumpkin. We eventually ended up at Jackie and Jason's to end our night. We only made it to the three places, but we were busy all night long!

Nap Time...I Don't Think So!

Today, Avery was supposed to be taking a nap. I thought that she was close to being asleep when she suddenly let out the biggest squeal. I went into her room, hoping to find her near sleep, but I actually found what you see below. Avery had rolled over from her back to her stomach and pivoted 90 degrees in her crib. Not only is this the first time that she rolled from her back to her stomach, but she had done it and turned around in her crib. She seemed so proud of herself for doing it too! Even though she was supposed to be sleeping, I just had to turn the lights on and take some pictures.

Stevie Wonder Baby

This weekend was Mizzou's homecoming game. Avery had a good time getting ready for the tailgate (the game didn't start until 7pm--just before Avery's bedtime--so she didn't get to go). Grandpa and Grandma Cover came by the house before the game, along with Cassi. Avery had such a good time playing with Grandma's scarf and sunglasses. When she put the glasses on, she would shake her head around like Stevie Wonder. I don't think she could see at all!

So Vocal!

Avery has been experimenting with her new found voice. She gets really excited when playing with her toys and really likes to tell us about it. She has the cutest little screams. She's also really starting to talk with intonations in her voice. I have a little clip of her talking and screaming about her toys--it's so cute!

TEETH!

Avery has been having some trouble sleeping at night, and she's been drooling like crazy. We've been able to see a couple of her teeth for quite some time now, but they have finally popped through. Last night was a terrible night as far as sleep goes, and now we officially know why! She seems to have a harder time with them at night, so we are hoping that getting these two in will help to ease some of the pain so she can get better sleep. The picture shows the teeth as good as we could get a picture of them. You can kind of see them just poking through her gums. I don't think you can tell from the picture, but apparently her teeth is just one more trait of hers that seems to take after her father--sadly, even her baby teeth are crooked. I have just reassured her that we will find a really good orthodontist to straighten the permanent ones.

PJ Pictures

We have some really cute pajamas for Avery. I'm not sure what it is about these pjs, but she is so cute in them. We have a couple of sets of them, so here are a couple of pictures.

More Baby Food Pictures...

We have gotten a little smarter at the feedings--Avery now eats shirtless, just until she gets the hang of it a little better. This way helps to minimize clothing changes throughout the day. This meal happens to be green beans and squash--a little more of a hit than the peas.

Baby Food!

Now that Avery is 6 months old, we got the official go ahead on baby food. It's exciting to see her doing new things and having new experiences. However, this is the end to her food being free. While one container of baby food doesn't cost that much in and of itself, it can add up when your daughter eats 2 containers each meal!

Her first food was peas, and they didn't go over really well. I, personally, don't blame her--who likes peas anyway? I read somewhere that you a supposed to try each food 7-10 times before deciding that your child doesn't actually like it. So, I guess she'll have to have another go at it before we call it quits with the peas. Sorry Avery!

Dum Dum!

Avery has been introduced to Dum Dum suckers and has discovered her love for them. She really likes to chew on them--it seems to feel good on her gums. She also really loves the sweet flavor, but she makes such a mess with all of the drool!

Just the Girls

This weekend was James and Kelli's wedding reception in Newton, KS. We spent the weekend familiarizing ourselves with Newton and meeting Kelli's family. We took a few pictures of just the girls. As usual, there are so few pictures of Avery with either Jeremy or me that we will take any that we can get even if they aren't super great pictures.
