Water Babies

We went to Clinton for an afternoon this week, and Avery participated in a photo shoot. A group of grandparents in town were getting all of the babies together to reproduce a picture one of them had seen of a bunch of babies in a pool in their pool floaties. Avery is a little young to be in the pool in a floatie, so she participated from the sidelines. She still managed to steal the show most of the time.

This is all of the babies in their floaties with Avery in the back!

Fun at the Lake

We made another trip to the lake this weekend, but this time we met Travis, Melissa, and Ashton as well as Jackie and Jason there. We spent the weekend enjoying the 70 degree weather and catching up. Ashton has really grown up since the last time we saw him, and I think he enjoyed meeting Avery.

This was Avery's first time on a boat. We didn't actually take it out on the water because we don't have a life jacket small enough for her, but she had a good time with the rocking motion of the water at the dock.

More New Friends

Avery got to meet Justin, Hayley, and Hayden Woods for the first time today. We met them for dinner and had a great time catching up. Justin and Hayley are actually expecting their second child, a little girl. So, maybe little Mackenzie and Avery can be friends.

More Luncheon Pics

There were a few pictures from the ladies' luncheon that I just recently got from Melody Wertz. Some of them were just too cute to pass up posting them in addition to the previous ones. This one is my favorite I think. It was not an easy task to get those little nails painted.
This was Avery's first time meeting her great aunt Susi. I think it went well.

Aunt Chelsea is just not doing it quite right today, but that is cute too!

New Furniture

Avery is so spoiled. We can't go anywhere without finding something that she "needs." Today, we were in Jefferson City at the mall looking for an outfit for her to wear to Nic's wedding. We didn't find a suitable dress, but we did find the cutest little furniture for her--that was on sale (60% off). Who could pass that up? Not us! She just loves it, and it will be just perfect for the back yard next summer.

Parents as Teachers

We had our first Parents as Teachers meeting today with our parent educator, Dee Dee. She seems to be great. We spent the entire time talking about how wonderful Avery is--one of our favorite things. She gave us some new tools to help make tummy time more enjoyable for Avery--she really doesn't like it very much at all. She also reinforced the fact that we are doing a lot of good things for her already--exercise daily (for her, not us), lots of interaction with us, colorful toys, reading to her every night. There are so many things to keep in mind to be doing that it's nice to hear that we are doing a good job (so far).

Cereal?

Avery has been growing so much and eating so well that we decided to give cereal a try. It is a little earlier than some, but we thought we would give it a try since she seems to be growing so fast and getting so big. We gave it a try for a couple of days, but she really doesn't seem to be in to it. That may be because she is still kind of young. Either way, we decided to give it a few more weeks before trying again. Either way, the pictures of her first attempts are cute.

4th of July

We had a barbecue at our house for the 4th. We had all of my siblings and their kids as well as my mom and Jackie and Jason. Avery got to have a play date with all of her cousins for the first time. Having all of those little kids around here at once was interesting--it went really well though. I'm sure that Jackie and Jason were quite overwhelmed at all the kids--one 3-year old and then 5 of them 18-months and under. It was a lot of fun, and Avery handled the crowd a lot better than she did at the girls' luncheon last weekend. Here is one of the few pictures of us as a family (TJ included) with Avery in here 4th of July dress.
