Today is mine and Jeremy's first anniversary--kind of weird to start over counting at 1 when we have been together for so long (12 1/2 years for those of you that have lost track). We spent the day just hanging out with Avery and enjoying our time with her and each other. As usual, we documented the day in pictures (mostly of Avery of course). She is ready for summer in her watermelon outfit--she is just so cute!

Just Playing Around
There really isn't a whole lot to say now--we just love this little girl and love taking her picture. We think that everyone else should love looking at them as much as we do, so here are some cute ones. She is getting so big, being able to sit up in her little green chair. She is still working on holding her head up all of the time, so we don't leave her there for long. She likes to be upright though. Otherwise she plays on her little mat on the floor (among other places).

Trip to the Lake
After our trip to Clinton last weekend was so successful, we decided to venture to the lake this weekend. We were a little more efficient packing this time, I think. We had a great time at the lake introducing Avery to more family and having more firsts for her. She met her Great Grandma Illig and her cousin Skyler among others. She also got to sport her first bathing suit and dip in the kiddie pool--she is still a little young for lake water. Either way, we had a good time and look forward to future trips.

First Trip Out of Town
This weekend we packed up an entire car load of things and headed to Clinton to visit family. It was Avery's first trip out of town and our first test to see if we could possibly pack enough things, and the right things, to last us through the weekend. We had a good visit as we introduced Avery to her cousin Allison and her Great Grandmother and Grandaddy Wilson.

TJ and Avery

Xanadu, TJ, and Tiki are all three adjusting to Avery's presence. Xanadu and Tiki pretty much ignore her. On occasion, Xanadu will pay attention but just enough to make sure that she is ok and doesn't need any protecting--he's our protector. It's TJ who seems to have taken the most interest in her--that's probably because prior to her arrival he spent all of his time in my lap, and now she does. He likes to watch her and sniff her to make sure that she isn't harboring any food that he may want to enjoy. This is one of their cutest interactions.

First Mother's Day
Avery and I spent the majority of our first Mother's Day alone together because Jeremy was out of town, but the day was fantastic. We spent most of our time just hanging out together. When Jeremy got back into town, we had dinner and I got my first Mother's Day present and card from both of them--a big freezer to store all of Avery's breast milk in (it is taking up half of the room in our freezer right now). While, not a typical Mother's Day present, I enjoyed its practicality. Thank you Jeremy and Avery!

Avery is One Month Old
It's hard to believe it, but Avery is already one month old! We didn't really do anything to celebrate--she can't eat cake yet! However, we are taking many pictures to help us, and everyone else, keep up with how fast she is growing. Here is what she looks like at one month old--with a case of baby acne (I'm sure she is thanking her parents for those genes).
